Sustainable Infrastructure

Implementing sustainable infrastructure was very important to the re-builders of Ioskeha. This infrastructure includes some building features made from recylced material, bike lanes on all roads in the city, LED public lighting, energy efficient buildings and homes, and EnergyStar appliances in all the public buildings.
Going Electric

Ioskeha has promoted electric transportation technology throughout the city. This includes: electric school and public buses, an electric car sharing program throughout the city, and electric car charges installed at all public buildings.

Community Involvement
In order to promote a "green culture", Ioskeha has encouraged citizen and community involvement. This includes a community garden, where local high school students can volunteer as a class elective, weekly classes about new green engineering and energy technologies, and monthly meetings to discuss changes that can be made to make the community even better.

Green Energy

All of the electricity generated to power the public buildings in Ioskeha, such as the library, police and fire department, and hospital, is generated through wind turbines and a biomass plant located outside of the town. In addition to the public buildings, these forms of renewable enery also help to power the majority of the households for Ioskeha's 25,000+ residents. Look below to learn about specific green programs we have implemented in the community.

This website and town is a part of a hypthothetical situation designed for a class project. The project is for Dr. Jambeck's ENVE 3320 (Urban Systems) class at the University of Georgia.
